This unique tool is for professional swimming pool leak detectors who want to dye test a vacuum port / overflow pipe without removing the grate. It also functions as a grate removal tool. The advantage of the tool is the speed of which you can test the overflow pipe- making it one of the first things that get tested instead of the last!
There is always the grate that covers the overflow pipe or vacuum port. The problem is these grates are so fragile I hardly ever get one loose without breaking it, also these pipes are a common source of leaks and they HAVE to be tested; A buried overflow pipe can be a common source of leaks, and the vacuum lines also.
So this tool solves 2 problems- It locks on the grate with a tight seal so the clear tube can be dye tested. Second, it acts as a grate removal tool if you want the spin the grate loose. Good for equalizer lines leading to the skimmer.
For storage it has a handy loop that can hang the tool out of the way until needed.
Seriously folks, I look at 4 pools a day and I use this tool quite a lot: its a quick test for a common problem in overflow lines.
